Power of Engineering Inc. delivered 5 exciting events in regional Queensland schools during the months of October and November, 2013. The events were held in Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles, and Roma, taking the power of engineering message into the Western Downs Regional Council and Maranoa Council areas for the first time. Fantastic speakers from diverse backgrounds shared their experiences as engineers, answered questions, and engaged with the students in workshops designed to reflect the innovative, creative, and sustainability focus on changing the world with the power of engineering.
The event programs also included site tours, or alternatively – sites came to classroom in the form of a new and exciting Industry Experience. Students were split into 5 different engineering discipline teams, where roles and responsibilities were explored and finally – the students put their “hard hats” on, and helped to solve a real-life crisis on a Coal Seam Gas Field!
The events were run as part of the CSG Industry Schools Program, and were proudly supported by Arrow Energy, Australia Pacific LNG, QGC and Santos GLNG.
